Let It Snow in West Co
“Oh the weather outside is….” Let it Snow in West Co is the City of West Covina’s official tree lighting ceremony that take place on the first Friday in December. The City invites the community for an evening of holiday magic filled with caroling, games, holiday activities, food, and snow!!! There is even a visit by Santa Claus himself.
Children’s Christmas Parade
The Kiwanis Club of West Covina invites children of all ages to participate in the annual Children’s Christmas Parade on the 2nd Saturday of December in Historic Downtown West Covina. Following the parade, the community is invited to Santa’s Village featuring live entertainment, food, vendors, games, and activities. This event is held in partnership with the City of West Covina.
SPRING
Easter Egg Hunt
The West Covina Kiwanis joins the City of West Covina in hosting this springtime event for the community at Cortez Park and Del Norte Park. This event includes egg hunts by age group, arts & crafts, jumpers, food trucks and vendors.
Spring Festival
The Spring Festival is held in March of each year and brings together non-profit organizations to provide the community with a fun-filled 2-day event featuring food, music, live entertainment, vendors, amusements, and most importantly fun! The event provide local non-profits the opportunity to showcase their organization and fundraise for their respective groups.
SUMMER
4th of July
4th of July is celebrated in West Covina with a Heroes Parade and an evening of entertainment. Check back soon for more information.
Cool Kids of Summer Beat the Heat Series
Stay cool at the park with West Covina’s Cook Kids of Summer Beat the Heat Series. Each summer, West Covina Rec hosts an afternoon of summer fun with water slides, games, and activities at various parks throughout the City. FALL
Pumpkin Run/Kartober-Fest
Each year, the City of West Covina partners with the West Covina Kiwanis Club to host an annual October fundraiser with proceeds to benefit the West Covina Senior Center and community grants. In 2022, the West Covina Kiwanis Club hosted the 1st Annual Kartober-Fest featuring cars, community booth, a beer garden, food, and free children’s activities in the upper parking lot of Cortez Park.
Festival of Frights
The Festival of Frights is celebrated annually on the Saturday before Halloween on S. Glendora Avenue in Historic Downtown West Covina. Festival of Frights highlights the season by bringing together Halloween and Dia de Los Muertos in a festive environment filled with frightful fun! The event features a haunted maze, a Dia de Los Muertos Mercado, costume contest, live entertainment, vendors, food, games, and activities.
Veterans Day Ceremony
Honoring our Veterans and showing appreciation for their service through the annual City of West Covina’s Veterans Day Ceremony is one way in which the City recognizes the important place that Veterans have in the community. The Veteran’s Day Ceremony is held on November 11th each year and takes place in the West Covina Civic Center courtyard. The ceremony is approximately one hour and is followed by a Veteran’s Lunch.
